Recipe #46 | Sweet Maple Basil Venison Meatballs

Making The Sweet Maple Basil Venison Meatballs

These Meatballs are juicy and delicious! The Venison is so lean so adding the Grass Fed Beef helps make these meatballs juicy and tender. Serve them straight up with a green salad or your favorite side 🙂

Ingredients:

1 lb Grass Fed Ground Beef
1 lb ground Venison
1 Yellow Onion
4 Cloves Garlic
Handful Fresh Basil
1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Ground Flax
2 Tbsp Sun Dried Tomato (in Olive oil)
1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Tbsp Olive Oil

 

Seasonings:

1 Tbsp Fennel Seeds
2 tsp Oregano
2 tsp Fenugreek
1 tsp Paprika
Sea Salt
Black Pepper

 

Process:

1. Divide oven Racks for 2 baking sheets and Preheat Oven to 400F
2. Combine Yellow Onion, Garlic, and Fresh Basil in a Food Processor and mix until finely chopped
3. Add Fennel Seeds, Oregano, Olive Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Maple Syrup and mix
4. In large Mixing bowl Combine Beef, Venison, and Onion mixture
5. Add 1 Egg, 1/2 Cup Ground Flax, Fenugreek, Paprika, Sea Salt and Black Pepper
6. Mix by hand until the all ingredients are combined
7. Separate meat mixture into equal sized meatballs and arrange on 2 baking sheets
8. Cook Meatballs for 10 minutes then rotate the baking sheets and cook for an additional 10 minutes
9. Remove the meatballs and increase the temperature of the oven to 450F
10. lightly sprinkle Sea Salt on each meatball and drizzle with maple syrup
11. Place meatballs back in the oven and cook for an additional 5 minutes
12. Serve warm with some Fresh Basil

    I think I shall try these. We have some ground venison…think turkey sausage would be ok to mix with it instead of the ground beef?
